St. Augustine Notes from Nancy – May 2017

This is a busy time of year for a lot of us.  Graduations, school ending, retirement and a lot of activities in the coming months.  I hope this finds all of you thinking about taking some time for yourselves.  It seems like everything has been busy, busy, busy this entire year!

  • 2017 Sea Turtle Nesting Season started May 1.  Please remember not to disturb any nests and turn off your lights. To learn more see: Anastasia Island Community Journal
  • Volunteer Opportunity: There is a program thru the American Cancer Society call Road to Recovery: Rides to Save Lives.  There are many patients who have no families or transportation  to get to their treatments. The Cancer Society matches up volunteers with patients needing transportation. If you can help please call 800-227-2345 to volunteer and be screened for driving a patient.
  • Lightner Museum: After Hours Event will feature Blue Muse from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on May 25 in the museum’s Grand Ballroom Gallery.   They play wonderful jazz music.  Food for the evening will be provided by Michael’s Tasting Room.  Café Alcazar will be open with a special dinner menu from 6 to 8 pm.  The event is free to the public but donations are requested for beverages.  For information go to LightnerMuseum.org.
